For Parents

You can follow your student's progress via your Observer Account.

To log in, use your email address as your username. Your child's name is your password. If you have any issues logging in, please let me know. â€‹

  • If you are not able to log in, please contact Mrs. Farquhar.

  • Another option that is highly recommended is that you ask your child to log into his/her account and show you around their dashboard and classes so you have a better understanding of what he/she sees and how CDLS and BUZZ are used by students.

Helping your Child

Focus on three things: time, expectations, and encouragement.

  • Time:

    •

  • Set high expectations:

    • Encourage your student to actively use the School Calendar on his/her/their CDLS dashboard to track what coursework he or she should be completed by the end of the week.

    • The total number of assignments due during a given week should be divided by the number of days he/she/they have available to work on the assignments that particular week.

      • Ideally, the student should set aside 5 days per week, preferably Monday-Friday.

    • Setting and achieving daily goals helps keep students motivated and determined to succeed.

  • Ask for feedback, and provide encouragement:

    • On a daily basis, check in with your child by asking questions.

      • What did you learn today?

      • What did you accomplish today?

      • What did you find challenging today?

      • How did you overcome those challenges?

      • How can I help you achieve success?

    • On a weekly basis, have your child log into his/her/their account and literally show you the progress made.
