Posted Assignments, Projects, Essays, etc.

CDLS teachers grade the assignments that you post, whether it be a short written response, lab report, project, or essay.

If you submit an assignment with plagiarism, random keystrokes, gibberish, or work otherwise unrelated to the directions, you will be contacted by the teacher for the course regarding the next steps. That information is forwarded to the online coordinator to further communicate the concern with you and your parents/guardian.

Go slow to go fast.  You will have the opportunity to redo the assignment/project, but you will save yourself time in the long run if you will follow through with the directions the first time around.

Please let the online coordinator know if upon reading the directions, you are unsure of what to do for an assignment/project so that you can get the necessary guidance.

Online Program Attendance

  • Attendance includes on-track progress in each class  (meaning due dates are being met)

  • Weekly in-person attendance in the Online Classroom

  • If you are consistently not meeting the attendance requirements from week to week, RHS administration will be in contact with your parents to try to resolve the issue or will recommend another alternative. If the issue persists, another alternative may be required.

Falling Behind

Low Scores

You do not have to settle for a low score. If you earn below 60% on an activity and you are not happy with how an assignment or assessment grade is impacting your in-progress grade for a class, let Mrs. Farquhar know so you can discuss your options for raising your grade.

If you are regularly getting low scores on your graded work, something to consider is whether or not you are taking the time you need in order to truly show what you understand.

Again, go slow to go fast.  If you are rushing to get done with the work and your grades are suffering as a result, your method is not working and you need to slow down. Otherwise, the time you will have put into the class will potentially be wasted if you do not pass the class or get credit for it.

Falling Behind

If you are behind in any of your classes, it likely comes down to not spending enough focused time on the required activities.

Most students are enrolled in seven classes on Edgenuity and need at least 4-5 hours five days per week (or a similar equivalent) in order to complete what is due each week.

If you are not putting in the time now, you will not likely be able to finish the required work for your classes in order to finish and receive credit for them.

If you are behind and feel like you are unable to get caught up on your own, please contact Mrs. Farquhar so that she can assist and give you some guidance on how to move forward.

Are you worried about not finishing a class?

However, you CAN still get credit for a class that is not finished, provided your FINAL grade is 60% or higher

  • Please contact Mrs. Farquhar for help in coming up with an appropriate plan for moving forward with your course.
